For parents searching martial arts

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the martial art most parents pick.

When parents look for martial arts classes for kids, they're usually choosing between karate, taekwondo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). BJJ is the modern grappling-based martial art that's grown the fastest with families — and for good reason.

Unlike striking-based martial arts, BJJ teaches kids how to defend themselves without throwing or taking punches. It's a thinking martial art — closer to a live chess match than a sparring drill — and it scales from a 3-year-old in our Preschool class all the way up to parents in our Adult class.

  • No striking, no head trauma — kids learn to solve problems on the ground, not throw punches.
  • Real self-defense that actually works against a bigger person — based on leverage, not size.
  • Builds focus, confidence, and respect in every class through our Winning Ways character curriculum.
  • Parents can train the exact same martial art alongside their kids in our Family Class.
  • Recommended by pediatricians and parents for kids with ADHD, autism, or extra energy to burn.
