Membership Terms & Conditions
AMP BJJ
These are the terms you agree to when you enroll in a membership at AMP BJJ. The governing agreement is the version you sign at enrollment in our membership system. This page is provided for reference.
Membership Types
We offer various membership plans tailored to meet your training needs. The specifics of your membership plan, including fees and benefits, are provided at enrollment.
Billing Cycle
Your membership fees will be automatically charged to your account every two weeks, beginning on your sign-up date and continuing every two weeks thereafter, regardless of your use of the membership.
Payment Methods
Membership fees must be paid using a credit card or electronic check (eCheck), which will be entered and securely stored in our membership system. Credit card payments will incur an additional 5% processing charge, while eChecks are processed free of charge.
Membership Policies
All delinquent payments and fees must be paid prior to a membership freeze or cancellation approval.
Membership Cancellation
You have the right to cancel your membership for any reason with a thirty (30) day notice. You may cancel through your AMP member account, or submit your cancellation request via email to train@ampbjj.com or by text to your home location: Austin locations (Westlake Hills, Northwest Hills, Cedar Park) 512-222-8051, or Baton Rouge 225-242-9242. The cancellation will be effective 30 days from the date of receipt of your notice. You may continue to train during the notice period. The final period will be charged in full and will not be pro-rated.
Membership Pause
You may pause (freeze) your membership up to two (2) times within any rolling 12-month period. Each pause may last up to sixty (60) days and requires a specific return date, chosen when the pause is requested. The first sixty (60) days of each pause are free of charge. If a pause is extended beyond sixty (60) days, a holding fee of $10 per billing cycle applies until the membership resumes. Your membership resumes automatically on your selected return date. Any delinquent payments or fees must be paid before a membership pause is approved. Pauses may be requested through your AMP member account or by contacting your home location.
Late Payment Fees
A late fee of $20 will be applied for any payments that are more than five (5) days late. It is your responsibility to inform AMP BJJ of any changes in your billing or payment information prior to the date your membership fee is charged. If you do not notify us and the payment is declined and not paid within the five (5) day grace period, you will be charged a late fee automatically.
Terms of Use
By signing up for a membership at AMP BJJ, you agree to abide by our gym rules and regulations, which are designed to ensure a safe and respectful training environment for all members.
Uniform Requirement
Students must wear approved AMP BJJ attire for the class format. For gi classes, an official AMP BJJ gi with a rank belt is the required uniform. For no-gi classes and no-gi seasons, an official AMP BJJ rashguard worn with athletic shorts or AMP BJJ uniform pants is the required uniform, and a gi is not required. Approved AMP BJJ attire must be worn at every class and at every AMP BJJ sponsored tournament. If a student does not have approved AMP BJJ attire for the class format, he or she may not participate in the class or tournament. You are required to purchase an AMP BJJ uniform when you sign up for a membership.
Health, Hygiene, and Skin Conditions
For the safety of all members, you agree to maintain proper personal hygiene, keep fingernails and toenails trimmed, and wear clean attire to every class. You agree not to train while you have a contagious condition, including but not limited to ringworm, staph, impetigo, herpes, or any open or untreated wound or skin infection, and to notify AMP BJJ of any such condition and refrain from training until it has cleared. AMP BJJ reserves the right to remove any student from the mat who presents a risk to the health or safety of others.
Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk
Participation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and related training involves inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, whether known or unknown. By becoming a member, you acknowledge these risks and agree that AMP BJJ, its owners, instructors, employees, and agents are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during training sessions, events, competitions, or while on the premises, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. Where the member is a minor, this acknowledgment and assumption of risk is agreed to by the parent or legal guardian on the minor's behalf.
Emergency Medical Authorization
In the event of an injury or medical emergency, you authorize AMP BJJ staff to seek and obtain emergency medical care on your behalf. Where the member is a minor, you authorize AMP BJJ to obtain emergency medical treatment for the minor if a parent or guardian cannot be reached. You agree to be responsible for any costs associated with such care.
Change of Schedule
AMP BJJ reserves the right to change its class schedule for any reason to better suit the school and class size.
Media Release
By becoming a member of AMP BJJ, you grant us permission to use any photographs, videos, or other media taken of you during training sessions, events, or any activities associated with AMP BJJ for marketing and promotional purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use on our social media platforms, website, newsletters, and other promotional materials. You understand that these images and videos may be used to showcase the community, training environment, and culture of AMP BJJ, and you agree that you will not receive any compensation for their use. If you do not wish to have your image or video used, please notify us in writing, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
Changes to Terms
AMP BJJ reserves the right to modify these membership terms and conditions at any time. We will notify you of any changes via email or through our official communication channels.
Agreement Acceptance
You accept these terms by any of the following actions: electronically submitting your membership application, enrolling in a membership, making any payment toward a membership, or signing the membership agreement at enrollment. Any one of these actions constitutes your acknowledgment that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms, whether or not a written or electronic signature is captured.
Payment Authorization
When you enroll, you authorize AMP BJJ to initiate debit entries to your bank account or credit card as agreed, and to debit the same to such account. Should a transaction be returned, you authorize debiting the account for non-sufficient fund fees according to applicable state law. This authorization remains in effect until AMP BJJ receives written notification of its termination at least five (5) business days prior to the payment due date. Canceling this authorization does not relieve you of the responsibility of paying your account in full.
