Winning Ways

Jiu-Jitsu is more than takedowns and techniques — it's a path to building better humans. Winning Ways is our 12-week life-skills curriculum, built into every kids class.

Winning Ways is a 12-week rotating life-skills curriculum that runs year-round. Every two weeks we introduce a new focus topic that falls under one of four developmental pillars. Coaches teach each topic in short mat chats, and every student takes home a short assignment designed to spark a conversation with a parent.

Turn in all six assignments in a quarter and you're invited to the AMP BJJ Winning Ways Party — our celebration of consistency, effort, and personal growth.

Why it matters

Tangible, teachable moments.

Parents often ask: "Will Jiu-Jitsu help my child with confidence or discipline?" The answer is yes — but only if the environment reinforces those values intentionally.

Winning Ways turns abstract concepts like kindness or resilience into tangible, teachable moments kids can practice in real life:

  • • A student learning respect bows, listens, and treats teammates with care.
  • • A student focused on problem-solving finds new strategies when a technique isn't working.
  • • A student reflecting on patience applies it with a frustrating sibling or classmate.
